POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The Assistant Dean of Student Services supports the Dean of Student Services by providing administrative leadership and operational oversight for Lake Area Tech’s Admissions, Enrollment, Financial Aid and Campus Life departments (Student Services). This position will assist in developing and executing strategies to increase the college’s enrollment/retention rates and ensure students receive outstanding service delivery before, during and after their post-secondary educational experience. This role requires a dynamic leader who can foster collaboration among staff, faculty and students, while driving initiatives that enhance the educational experience and institutional effectiveness.

 

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Dean of Student Services should have a background in higher education, with experience in leadership and management. They should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have the ability to inspire and lead a diverse staff with varied responsibilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in education, administration or related field from an accredited college or university is required.

 

At least three years of higher educational administration and/or academic leadership is preferred.

 

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required.

 

Ability to engage, inspire and lead a diverse team with varied responsibilities.

 

 

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Dean of Student Services

 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Supports the Dean by providing day-to-day administrative leadership and operational oversight to Lake Area Tech’s Student Services staff.

 

Assigns and oversees responsibilities to administrative staff within the various Student Services departments.

Prepares reports and presentations on behalf of the Dean. Facilitates meetings and events as needed.

 

Identifies and implements effective system processes to maximize the efficiencies within all Student Services departments.

 

Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of Student Services programs and suggest improvements.

 

Gather and analyze data to make informed decisions and provide recommendations to the Dean.

 

Assist in managing the admissions process, including recruitment efforts and application reviews. Help develop and implement strategies to attract qualified applicants and grow the school’s overall enrollment.

 

Collaborate with staff to help streamline enrollment procedures. Analyze enrollment data to identify trends and support informed decision-making.

 

Support the administration of Lake Area Tech’s financial aid programs and help ensure regulatory excellence is continually achieved.

 

Assist in planning and executing campus events and activities that promote student engagement. Work with student organizations to support their initiatives and foster a sense of community.
