Lake Area Technical College (LATC) is seeking a motivated, student-centered Early College and Dual Credit Coordinator to lead, develop, and manage early college and dual credit initiatives in partnership with secondary schools. This position serves as the primary liaison between LATC and K–12 partners to expand access to postsecondary education, ensure academic quality, and support student success for learners earning college credit while exploring career pathways.
The Coordinator also supports middle and high school camps and career exploration activities that align with dual credit and enrollment pathways. This role is responsible for planning, promotion, compliance, reporting, communication, and continuous program improvement in alignment with institutional priorities, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in education, higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field.
- Three years of related professional experience.
- High level of professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Experience in a technical college, secondary–postsecondary partnerships, dual credit, early college programs, or academic coordination is a plus.
- Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
- Proficiency with student information systems, data collection/analysis/reporting, and standard office technology.
- Knowledge of state dual credit regulations and practices and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation standards.
- Understanding of both general education and technical education dual credit courses, including transferability.
- Ability to use data to inform decision-making and program improvement.
- Commitment to student success and expanding early college access.
REPORTS TO: Director of Enrollment, Dean of Student Services, Vice President Works closely with the Academics Department, Admissions Team, and Student Services leadership.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Early College and Dual Credit Coordinator plays a key role in introducing middle and high school students to Lake Area Tech, helping them explore career options, and guiding students through dual credit enrollment and participation. The Coordinator builds and maintains strong partnerships between K–12 counselors, administrators, and CTE teachers and LATC academic departments and faculty.
The Coordinator is responsible for:
- Coordinating and overseeing early college and dual credit programs, including scheduling, advising, enrollment, billing, reporting, and program evaluation.
- Serving as a central point of collaboration among faculty, administrators, students, parents/guardians, and K–12 partners.
- Ensuring compliance with state regulations, accreditation requirements, institutional policies, and memoranda of understanding (MOUs).
- Monitoring student enrollment, progress, and outcomes; preparing reports; and supporting program assessment and continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with Student Services, Academic Affairs, Marketing, the LATC Foundation, and administrative offices to support a seamless student experience.
- Leading outreach, recruitment, and communication efforts to promote early college and dual credit opportunities.
- Staying current on best practices, state policies, and trends in early college and dual credit education.
- Supporting grant initiatives and special projects related to college access and partnerships, as applicable.
- Performing other duties as assigned in support of LATC’s mission.
DUAL CREDIT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate recruitment, registration, orientation, scheduling, advising, billing, and reporting for dual credit and early college students.
- Serve as the primary contact for secondary school administrators, counselors, teachers, students, and families.
- Manage and promote LATC Dual Credit Pathways.
- Coordinate LATC’s dual credit data and reporting for the South Dakota Dual Credit Dashboard.
CONCURRENT CREDIT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Academics Department to ensure alignment of learning outcomes, curriculum, assessments, and instructional standards for concurrent credit courses.
- Develop and maintain processes that allow qualified high school instructors to offer LATC concurrent credit.
- Facilitate instructor credentialing, onboarding, training, and ongoing support for high school teachers delivering college-level coursework, in coordination with the Academics Department.
CAMPS & CAREER EXPLORATION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate select middle and high school outreach programs, academic camps, and career exploration events aligned with dual credit and enrollment pathways.
- Support communication, logistics, and execution of camps that align with institutional recruitment goals.
- Coordinate technical education camps and experiences for K–12 educators and counselors to increase awareness of student opportunities.
- Collaborate with Admissions on campus visit days, college and career fairs, high school course planning events, and related activities promoting early college experiences at LATC.
SALARY RANGE
$50,626 – $78,316, depending on experience and credentials.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- 200-day contract
- Salary and benefits set by the Watertown School Board
- Frequent travel to partner high schools and events.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for high school information sessions.
