QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in education or agriculture preferred, Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree a plus.
- Previous experience leading student organizations at the local, state, and national level preferred.
- Experience in managing a non-profit.
- Supervisory and board leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software.
- Experience managing conflict on many levels of the organization.
- Participation in CTE Student Organization in high school or college is a plus.
- Excellent people skills and an affinity for working with young adults and coworkers in a team environment to support students.
- Strong communication and public speaking skills.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Must reside in South Dakota, this position is remote with flexible office options.
REPORTS TO: CTSO State Director, LATC Vice President, South Dakota CTE Director (Department of Education)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the constitution, by-laws and values of South Dakota FFA are upheld.
- Serve as a liaison between SD FFA and the CTSO Center.
- Serve as a liaison between the national organization and the state organization.
- Work closely with all State FFA staff.
- Provide assistance with training the state officer team.
- Provide reports, support, and serve on the FFA Adult Board of Directors.
- Provide reports and serve as Secretary of the FFA Foundation Board of Directors.
- Coordinate and manage state events.
- Manage state and national membership rosters.
- Manage finances and assist in creating an annual budget for the organization.
- Ensure the organization is tax-exempt and incorporated with the Secretary of State.
- Provide an annual report to the CTSO director as requested. Including membership, promotion, growth, improvements, and finances
- Attend CTSO-sponsored events with students (leadership trainings, capital city experience, etc.)
- Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners
- Develop and maintain relationships with post-secondary programs
- Other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month contract with salary and benefits set by the Watertown School Board and South Dakota Department of Education. Grant-funded position contingent upon continued funding.
- Start Date: Flexible – early as May 4th
- Wage: $54,000
- Location: Flexible/Remote (Must be SD resident)
