TITLE:  South Dakota FCCLA State Advisor (Executive Director)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate’s degree in education or family and consumer science preferred, Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree a plus.
  2. Previous experience leading student organizations at the local, state and national level preferred.
  3. Supervisory and board leadership experience preferred.
  4. Participation in CTE Student Organization in high school or college a plus.
  5. Excellent people skills and an affinity for working with young adults and coworkers in a team environment to support students.
  6. Strong communication and public speaking skills.
  7. Bilingual a plus.
  8. Must reside in South Dakota, this position is remote with flexible office options.

 

REPORTS TO: CTSO State Director, Grants Manager, Vice President

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:     

  1. Ensure the constitution, by-laws and values of South Dakota FCCLA are upheld
  2. Serve a liaison between the State and/or the CTSO Center and the chapters
  3. Serve a liaison between the national organization and the state organization
  4. Provide resources and advice for co-curricular activities
  5. Provide training to state officers
  6. Coordinate activities with the organizations Board of Directors
  7. Coordinate and manage all state events
  8. Coordinate recruitment efforts for new chapters/members
  9. Manage state and national membership rosters
  10. Maintain organization websites
  11. Budget for organization and maintain current financial information
  12. Ensure each organization is tax exempt and incorporated with the Secretary of State
  13. Provide an annual report to the CTSO director annually. Including membership, promotion, growth, improvements, and finances
  14. Provide all membership rosters to the state by June 1 each year
  15. Attend CTSO sponsored events with students (leadership trainings, capital city experience, etc.)
  16. Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners
  17. Develop and maintain relationships with post-secondary programs
  18. Other duties as assigned

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve month contract with salary and benefits set by the Watertown School Board and South Dakota Department of Education. Grant-funded position contingent upon continued funding.
