Position Summary: Lake Area Technical College is seeking a dynamic, flexible, and service-oriented individual to serve as a Part-Time Administrative Assistant in support of the Campus Visitor Coordinator. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a welcoming and professional front desk experience for prospective students, families, industry partners, and guests. The Administrative Assistant will provide consistent coverage at the front desk when the Campus Visitor Coordinator is working directly with visitors or attending off-desk obligations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior administrative or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to adapt to a changing schedule with short notice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and general computer usage.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- This position operates in a professional office environment and requires regular interaction with students, families, and external guests. The role requires sitting, using a computer, answering phones, and occasional walking to guide or support visitors.
- Weekly schedule varies based on needs; estimated 20 hours per week.
- Occasional additional hours may be requested during peak campus visit times or special events.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary front desk receptionist in the Admissions and Marketing Office during assigned hours.
- Greet and assist students, families, industry partners, and other guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Provide phone and in-person support, answer inquiries, and direct guests to appropriate departments or personnel.
- Work closely with the Campus Visitor Coordinator to ensure seamless transitions and consistent guest service.
- Maintain front desk organization and assist with preparing materials for campus tours or events.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, logging visitor data, and completing general administrative tasks as assigned.
- Display flexibility in work schedule, adapting weekly based on campus visitor volume and departmental need.
- Other duties as assigned.
