Position Overview: Lake Area Technical College seeks a qualified Nursing Instructor to support the delivery of high-quality nursing education aligned with the mission and philosophy of the College and Nursing Department. The instructor is a registered nurse with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing (master’s preferred), a current South Dakota RN license, at least three years of clinical experience, and the ability to obtain a South Dakota post-secondary teaching certificate. This role involves teaching selected theory courses, supervising and evaluating students in clinical settings, advising students, and contributing to curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement based on program outcomes and quality standards. The Nursing Instructor works collaboratively with faculty, administration, and clinical partners; integrates technology and evidence-based practice into instruction; maintains clinical competence through professional development; participates in faculty meetings, committees, recruitment, and employer engagement activities; and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, professional integrity, and a commitment to student success and lifelong learning.

Performance Responsibilities:

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits set by the Watertown School District.

 

SALARY: 186-day contract. Salary and benefits set by the Watertown Board of Education in accordance with the state post-secondary salary formula. Evening and weekend hours required for clinical instruction.
